Historic Oakland location

Our two-story red brick building near Jack London Square is the former home of the practice studios for the Oakland Ballet, which put on performances for 40 years until dissolving in February 2006. The building itself was originally a cannery for the Del Monte Corporation, and is designated as a historic location by the city of Oakland.

Professional-quality studios for Ballroom and Salsa instruction

Our recently renovated studio offers
rooms spacious enough for a large gathering or comfortable enough for
one-on-one lessons. Our dance floors
are reinforced with springs to be easy
on your feet, and skylights let in as
much natural light as possible from
the outside.

For ballroom dances, our 60'-by-40'
main studio has enough space to
practice any routine or hold group
lessons. A digital database of over
6,000 songs provides any kind of music
to go along with the dances of your choice.

Our mid-sized studio is perfect for
salsa dancing and private lessons, and
our small studio offers an ideal place
for individual practice or for beginners
to learn their first steps.

Our rooms may also be available to
host private parties; contact us for availability and rates.

Student lounge, changing rooms and storage baskets

When you're done with your lesson, you can cool down in one of the private showers located in each of our restrooms. We also have storage for anything that you don't want to bring out onto the dance floor.

If you just want to relax, enjoy a cold drink or hot chocolate upstairs in our student lounge. Read a magazine, or enjoy listening to a selection from our CD collection.
